WoW Warrior Professions

Blizzard tried to even out the professions with Wrath of the Lich King. The reason for this was the constant rerolling of professions, depending on which profession gave the highest benefit to their group at that point. This change should prevent this from happening as most profession perks are now close to each other, although there are still some minor differences.

Jewelcrafters, for example, are able to equip up to three epic gems in their gear. These gems provide a higher bonus than ordinary blue or epic gems. They also used to make it easier to get socket and meta requirements as they were prismatic. This was changed with Patch 3.2 though.

Blacksmiths are able to craft special sockets they can insert into their bracers or gloves. When socketed with the right gems the Warrior can receive an additional stat boost. An enchanter is able to get the same extra stats with special ring enchants. A special fur lining is the profession perk for the leatherworkers. While it replaces the normal bracer enchant, its much higher stats more than make up for it.

Scribes are able to learn special shoulder inscriptions from their trainers. Not only are these inscriptions much stronger than the one obtained from the Sons of Hodir, but the scribe has the advantage of not having to care about yet another reputation grind.

Tailors and engineers are left out in the blue. While tailors are able to embroider their cloaks with special threads it's way inferior to the ordinary cloak enchants. Engineers get some tools and gadgets for their belts and gloves, but those have very little combat impact.

An alchemist gets Mixology, making Flasks and Elixirs last twice the usual duration while also increasing their effect.
