WoW Warrior Armor

Just like the Death Knight and the Paladin the Warrior in Wrath of the Lich King is able to equip any type of armor. Plate armor is the obvious choice, as it offers the best protection. There used to be a time where Warriors, who are able to wear plate armor, took advantage of leather armor, as these are pieces had better stats - much to the dismay of leather wearers.

To discourage Warriors from doing this in Wrath of the Lich King Blizzard introduced a special talent that makes plate armor more attractive to Warriors. This talent provides additional attack power for every point of armor they are wearing, making leather a bad choice.

Strength and stamina are the primary stats making plate armor interesting for a Warrior. Whether the Warrior wants to tank or deal damage he will try to get defense-, block-, parry- and dodge-rating or haste- and critical strike rating as his secondary stats. Fury Warriors depend on hit-rating, making that stat very interesting to them. Although MS- and Prot-Warriors try to get some hit-rating as well.

Strength on defensive types of armor gained a lot of popularity with Wrath of the Lich King since it now has a greater impact on the block value. This makes the Warrior able to reduce incoming damage with higher strength while dealing more damage at the same time.
